We finished the year 80-82 tied with St. Louis for 1st in the NL Central. We blew 'em away in the tie-breaker to advance to the playoffs with a record of 81-82.

In the first round we faced the defending champion Phillies who won a record 117 games in the regular season. No problem. We swept them in three! Then we beat the Padres 4-1 in the NLCS! Next up the New York Yankees.

We ended up winning the World Series in seven games when our 1b hit a grand slam in the top of the ninth to break a 1-1 tie!

Anybody ever win it all after finishing with a losing record?
