Option to go to college after High School
You should start as a high school graduate. Then you should have to choose to go pro or to college. Going to college would lower your ceiling a little but improve your actual ratings. If you enter the draft there should be an option to go to college if you don't like who picked you coming out of high school. After each season of college you could re-enter the draft. This would improve your ratings each year you went to college. It wouldn't improve them as much as minor league ball but it would allow an option so that if you wanted to sign with a particular team you could increase your chance.

or be eligible after HS and then after Junior year of college like in real life.
