Legacy
Several people have mentioned a coaching career as a way to keep a game going when your player retires. How about the ability to bring up a son who makes it to the bigs, too?
I'd much rather follow Jr. or Barry Bonds than take my player into the broadcast booth and let him become a clown. |

1. Your player can always get a son on age 18~22 if you choosed to. 2. Other than handling the player, you should be able to somehow guide his son too. Putting "coaching the son's team" or "playing catch" on the dad's training schedule and stuff like that. 3. Christmas gifts every year that could boost the son's talents. 4. Choices of schools that would also effect his development. All these could be put in the offseason for easier handling, or just interlace with the season. Once the son got old enough to enter the draft, a choice could pop up for you to either go on with the dad, or switch to the son. Perhaps the son could have one equipment and some of the cash from dad too! With features like this, the career can go on forever! Perhaps not too hard to implement in ITP2?

It would add continuity and give the player something to do once the original character retires; certainly would give "dynasty" a new meaning in the game. This is a very good idea.
