One thing I'd really love to see is the ability to take over the career of a veteran player from OOTP. Rather than having to build every player from the ground up, it would be really cool to be, say, Darryl Strawberry mid-career and see if you can do better than he did. It would also be cool to be able to switch who you are to another player, like you can switch teams in OOTP.

I dont think it would be hard to do that. I think you can import players from a file already.

Just like people make roster sets it would be easy enough to make "rookie sets" for ITP wherein players are given Talent and RPG ratings. Not sure, if you could make it so a certian player was drafted by a certian team or not...I am sure it is possible just to bypass the draft somehow.

I think this would be one really good use for a player editor that isn't "cheating".

I mean picking them up in mid-career, though, not at the beginning (which is what the current system allows).

Let's say I've got an OOTP league going, and there's a player I really love. I want to continue along with control of that player. So I go into ITP and take over as that player.

That is something I'd love to be able to do with ITP in the future.
