Ranks/nicknames

In role playing games, the achievements of the playing character is one of major gratifications.

Perhaps we can add more into that by introducint the idea of ranks.

There could be several catagories of them.

1. Based on similarities

Something like "the Babe Ruth of the modern day".

This kind of rank could be given after retirement or after a certain number of years in the league.

2. Based on achievements.

"Iron man" for game streaks, "the Glove" for over five golden gloves, "AAAA" for those stayed in AAA for over five years.... Sombody must be able to think of a lot of cool titles.

This kind of rank could be given right after a goal is achieved.

3. Based on off the field activities.

Those who sell or buy equipments more than 50 times could be dubbed traders, and those who actually profitted from it could be named smart traders. Those who started more than 50 fights could be named punks, and perhaps another cool name for those who actually won a fixed number of fights. Also gigolo for those who scored more than 50 times.

These could also serve as the nickname of the character.

I'm sure collecting nicknames/ranks could be as fun as collecting trophies.
