Ideas for training
I think that the gym is perhaps the coolest part of the game. However,
I think it is fairly primitive and needs some reworking for the next release. I will tell you from experience that lifting (especially heavy) during baseball season is very difficult to balance. For instance, a serious legs workout will seriously hinder mobility for a couple days and definitely keep you out of the stolen base column. So I have a few suggestions to make that I don't think will be too difficult to implement. - Please rename the weight room to Julio's Gym or something in honor of Julio Franco and those massive slabs of meat attached to his limbs and torso. - Lower body needs to have squat, deadlift, lunges, leg press, leg curl, leg extension, and calf raises. Batters: Power++, Speed+ Pitchers: Endurace++, Velocity+ - Upper body I propose has four routines: 1. shoulders+traps (raising), 2. bis+lats (pulling), 3. tris+chest (pushing), and 4. forearms+grip. Batters: 1. Arm++, Power+ 2. Contact+ 3. Power+ 4. Contact+ Pitchers: 1. Endurance ? 2. Control+ ? 3. Durability+ Velocity+ ? 4. Movement+ Durability ? * Those are just roughly thrown together - 'Roids are essential, gotta be able to juice up and risk suspensions (from 'roid rage ejections too) and health for the 50% boost on gains. Career longevity might consequently be decreased due to injuries in bar fights or something, haha. I don't know, there has to be a tangible downside to using them if juicin' is implemented. - Body weight could be increased periodically along with maybe some key lifts to show if a player has plateaued. Example: ------------------------------------ Health Profile: Height: 5'11" Weight: 185 lbs Current Diet: (juicin', bulking, slimming, normal) Body fat composition: 11% (helps speed/endurance) Energy Level: (walking dead, tired, sluggish, fair, good, great, perfect) Max Lifts Bench: 225 lbs Barbell Curl: 105 lbs Military: 135 lbs Squat: 245 lbs Deadlift: 275 lbs Crush Grip Strength: 100 lbs Injuries...(strained tricep) ... increase proneness at previously injured spot. Not 100% sure how that would be best tied in with the weight room. -------------------------------------------------- - I don't have any new ideas for flexibility and skill training. |

Great ideas but I wonder how complex it would be to get all of that factored into the game? I think it would be hard to keep the ratings changing all the time the way it would have to for what you suggest.
