Why can't I set my role?

Is there any way I can express my displeasure at my role? I'm now pitching for Toronto Blue Jays. I have WHIP of 0.88, pitching 87 innings and striking out 78 while walking 6 last season, better than any pitcher in the club. Yet the AI manager still put me at middle reliever--3rd one on the list at that! I wanna go for the all-time save record, not some middle reliever--not even a setup man--who gets to work 7~8th innings. My stats and abilities are good, so I think there's something wrong with the manager's decision.

I think you already have.

This has been brought up before in "why can't I be a closer?" discussions. Right now you play at the whim of the AI. Future versions may see a change in this, but future versions are a ways off yet, I'm afraid.

Try downloading the new patch, it is supposed to let you be a closer.
