What's up with the low batting avg and HR totals
Ever since I have played this game I can't seem to hit better than 270. My current player has a contact rating of 80 and a Power Rating of 80. I can't get his avg above 270 and his HR total is usually 20-25. I have had other players that I just quit playing. I have the workout and flexing done to a tee. My bat is made for me. including the +14 with my bat that should give me a power rating of 94.
When you are setting players up it says I believe a 5 rating on contact isa 270 avg. I understand good and bad years but must every year be a bad year. What am I doing wrong? |

I always set my hitting higher than 5. I have never found that setting it for 5 will get you .270. I shoot for 7 minimum, depending on the player I am making.
But rest assured, the freakish numbers thrown around here, well the numbers that used to be thrown around, are not gotten by everyone. Even when I follow the hitters workout, I don't. Sure I get HOF careers most times, but not freakish numbers. I would kill for a career average of .325+. I think my best career average is .299. Also give the workout a chance to work if you are ending careers after bad starts. I usually do not see gains until the mid 30s. On a rare occasion I'll see bumps at 29 or 30.

I just want to add this. I have 100 contact, 100 gap, 70 power and 60 eye. I have the Turbo flex gloves and Wonderboy. The 2 seasons after I got WB (with those stats), I hit .266 and .255. This game is whacky sometimes.
