I would like to think several of us care enough to put something like this together, I will start with a short answer though. as great as OOTP is kids don't grow up dreaming of being a manager or a coach, they grow up dreaming of being professional athletes. ITP allows you to simulate that dream

I gotta agree, ITP was just plain fun... sure it isn't used by online leagues or as in depth as OOTPX but it was just fun. The fact that it was fun as hell is to it's credit because it was also incredibly flawed. Your player had only the most tenuous attachment to his team (you got in drinking contests with teammates, and that was pretty much it), it was too easy (with the ultimate workout) and it was pretty predictable... but we still play it to this day because it was fun.
Just look at the depth of OOTPX and you can just imagine how awesome playing ITP2 would be. Imagine how the uniforms would change, your player could even age, he could play in winter leagues, there could be more for him to spend money on, he could do interviews, he could be on freaking magazine covers... the possibilities are almost endless... and one would hope, most of the heavy lifting would already be done with the OOTPX engine. I think Road to the Show mode sucks on MLB 09, it can't even capture a 1/10th of the fun I have playing ITP and I would pay (and so would others) for a new, more immersive Inside the Park baseball. Please make it so. |

If ITP was on the same level of OOTP, I would drop down $300+ for it without hesitating (Mac version). I know Markus has a lot on his plate with one game, but OOTP is so solid right now I would not be upset if he took a year off of that to work on ITP. (Others may be upset, I certainly wouldn't though)
I can't believe it's been almost 6 years. In my youth I would blow out the candles on my birthday and think "God, please give Markus the inspiration to do the tedious task of coding an under appreciated game" It's because of Markus I no longer believe in a god. But honestly, if an ITP 2 ever comes out and it's a huge improvement over ITP I would fly to Germany and pay for all the tities and beer he could handle. |

Guys, if he hasn't visited and said it was dead, it isn't. You have to have faith, hang on and let him get some things finished with OOTP 10, and who knows... he might have news for you.
Never give up on the game, sometimes there isn't time to go into depth on OOTP Dev's future while in the middle of finishing up a long OOTP X development and release. I am sure he will address any ideas he has for OOTP, ITP or anything else under the OOTP Developments banner. I know the wait is hard for some, but, I am willing to wait to see what Markus surprises us all with, no matter what it is!
