Importing historical league from OOTP5

This is kind of a double post, since I was originally responding to a question in the Wishlist forum, but I didn't think that was really the best place for it. For anyone wanting to import a historical OOTP5 league, this is how I did it. Worked out good:

I wanted to start my ITP league in 1986, the year I graduated high school. What I did was:

- Imported 1982 from the Ankit DB. I decided to let the player go to the correct teams until MY ammy draft 1986. I imported from 1982 only to get the minors built up a little.

- I simmed 1982, 1983, 1984, and 1985 in OOTP5. This time when I proceeded to 1986, I said to use real rookies (same as before) but this time to hold a draft. This imported the real rookies into OOTP5.

- I backed up my OOTP5 league, and imported into ITP. I created my player, and went into the ammy draft, where I was picked in the 3rd round by Seattle. I know Barry Bonds went in the first round, something like 6th overall. I cant seem to find a list of the draft results anywhere though.

The first time I imported into ITP, I had created an OOTP5 league, importing 1986 right off the bat. I then imported into ITP at the beginning of that season, but because no amatuers were imported into the OOTP5 league first, all fictional players were created for the ammy draft.

Once thing Im still not totally sure of is whether ITP fills the minors with fictional guys if there are not full minors in the OOTP5 league prior to import. I suspect it does mix fictional and real players to fill the rosters.

How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you.

There will be undrafted fictional players in your league in order to keep the rosters full.

Is there a option to import real rookies each year If you start a historical league like there Is In OOTP5?

If not could this be added In a patch?? This would be a great feature to add.

Yes. Make sure you have the OOTP5 league set to career before importing into ITP. At the end of the season, it will ask about rel rookies, exactly like OOTP5. You wont actually see the draft, but if you check the ILB Homepage link to "Last Draft Log" you can see who went where, and when they were drafted.

Not sure where I went wrong but I tryed importing my OOTP league which is 1999. Everything worked fine all of the correct players were on the correct rosters. Spring training also passed but when it came time to advance one day after FA period, the game crashes. Any ideas? Thanks

adam

Ps : Really enjoy the game!

Just a friendly bump for you historical minded players out there who may have been out shopping instead of playing the game
