Hidden ratings, formula problems, or cheat detector?

I got bored and used some editor to create an all 100 pitcher. Here are his stats:

In AAA,
26 game started/ 174 IP/ 144 HA/ 139 R/ 139 ER/ 0 BB/ 234 K/ 8 CG/ 0.83 WHIP/ 7.19 ERA

Basically this guy give up 139 homeruns in 174 games with nothing else.

All visible ratings are at 100, and all RPG attributes at 5.

Where'd you get the editor?

It's not an ITP editor, just a memory editor.

There are indeed issues with all 100 ratings. I tried a pitcher with all 96s, and he became a stud ace. However, once those 96 developed to the level of 100( actually only stuff and control at 100, others inbetween 96 and 100) , he became the spot starter and started to give up nothing but homeruns in every game.

  • Date Opp. Result Start IP H R ER BB K Dec
    4/30 @Cle W 7-0 * 9 7 0 0 0 11 W PoG
    5/4 @Tor W 8-1 * 9 4 1 1 0 7 W PoG
    5/10 Tor L 1-5 * 1 6 5 5 0 1 L
    5/16 @Bos L 4-13 2.2 4 4 4 0 1
    5/18 @Bos L 9-14 0.1 2 2 2 0 1 L
    5/20 Bal L 4-8 1.2 0 0 0 0 1

What happened inbetween 5/4 and 5/10 was just rating growth to 100. Must be a rating bug?

Nobody knows this? A bug for pitchers with all 100s?

I also find that as players ratings are at the max(100), they decline. My batter dropped from a .370 hitter when he was at 90. Then when he got a talent upgrade to 100 he dropped down to .330

A bug for all pitchers with 100.

You have GOT to be kidding!

Do you think this game was programmed to allow or 100's across the board?

I would be stunned if the program even worked with the values edited so severely.

...and then to call that a bug? Are you joking?

actually, for a batter you can get 100's across the board. With talent upgrades and all, i've gotten my normal lvl player up to 90 contact, 70 power, 70 gap, and 100 eye at 22

Well, 100 is the limit set by the game itself, not me. I'm basically doing something a regular game tester would do, checking out the boundary conditions. What do you think all those built-in cheats in some other games are for? Just good tools for beta testers.

I tested again and tried a pitcher like this:

100 in Stuff, Control, and Poise. 10 in Velocity.

This is definitely achieveable without editing. At least 108 skill points needed, and possible in Pathetic or Easy mode.

And viola! same thing again.

In two games, this guy pitched 18 innings, giving up 11 hits, all homeruns, no BBs, 35Ks.

I think this is really a bug.
