Making the Hall on Horror

With a bit of luck, I took my second basemen, Bob, to the hall of fame on the horror level.
Ironically he was released twice in his early career and was out of pro baseball for almost a year.
I'm not sure if he really, truely belongs in the hall. He did win the MVP once, the Gold Glove once and made 4 Allstar teams, still hardly a first ballet Hall of Famer.
He hit .279 with 383 homers and 312 stolen bases.
His rookie card is worth $822.48.
So do you think I got lucky and had a generous selection committee or does he really belong.

Anyway who else has made the Hall on Horror and what types of stats did your player end up with?

Dunno.....I looked up Joe Morgans stats in the hall of fame and his aren't all that much better than what you have there to be honest

But Joe Morgan had veteran presence from the day he was a rookie and lotsa intangibles, the most important elements for a team to win.

383 HRs for a 2B is great. The most is 282.

Bob struck out a whole lot, so i thought that might be held against him. He had an eye of 10, so you can imagine.

Still he batted cleanup for a good part of his career, which I think is pretty rare for a good defensive middle infielder and was quite often the best position player on his team.
I really didn't expect the phone to ring when he retired. I was hoping for another good year or two, so the homers would go past 400, but his stats fell off the map and he was released.

I hadn't written them down, but I found them in the database, thanks to his MVP win. These are up to the time when he won the award and had played eight seasons. I can't find his full recod at retirement, anyone know how?
Games - 1212, AB - 4403, Hits - 1232, 2B - 156, 3B - 51, HR - 282, RBI - 824, Runs - 717, BB - 250, K - 1078, SB - 167, CS - 78, Ave. - .280, OBP - .319, SLG - .531, OPS - .849
I started hitting the Henderson booksnot long after this, which is why his stealing numbers went up quite a lot later in his career.
Anyway I'll look for his career numbers.
Hey Markus can you make a good way for us to look back at our previous careers when he make new players in the same league?

Thanks, that's the plan I've been using from the other long thread on such things, but I hadn't realized it was your plan.

I start off this way and as I age scale it back and lighten it up and it works wonders. Once I thought it wasn't working until I noticed I had put arm flex in place of upper body flex, so I guess you have to have each type of flex in the plan to increase.

Well I got a catcher to the Hall on what might be another questionable one. I think he got in because he had over 300 homers.
Ave. - 281 OBP - .367 SLG - .506 OPS - .873
H - 1873 HR - 303 R - 1118 RBI - 1121

Odd thing was he got five stat increases early in his career and five or six more at about thirty and none in between.
Also his best season he was hittting .417 with tons of homers at the 150 ABs mark, when he got back to back injuries costing him three months of the season. He never really recovered from that injury. I wonder what a season that might have been.
