I always had success utilizing the ultimate hitters workout and swapping out batting practice for long toss and other pitching workouts. Keep your ratings within the recommended specs and it worked fine.

The secret to all workouts is making sure you get one exercise and one flexibility for each of the 4 body zones, and keeping it within the suggested ratio. (I find younger players can be pushed a little above recommended levels). Fill in the blanks with skills drills (batting practice, fast running, etc.) and try to keep the energy level above 50. I usually give my player Saturday and Sunday off from training.
