Anyone working on

Is anyone working on ITP mods such as...

Character pictures
New Equipment
New Books
New Exercises

Sadly, this is not my area at all, but it would be great to be able to download an equipment file, or books file. There could be more "regular" bats, more "super" bats, or bats with cheaper price tags or lessened requirements

Also, people have been asking about "supplement programs" and one way to do this would be writing new exercise files with either greater strength results ('roids) or quicker recovery times (regular supplementation)

Come to think of it...what exactly does the "+" mean in bench press +?

My thoughts:

Character pictures are easy if you put a little work into it. After you've created a character, replace the playerX.bmp inside your league's directory with the picture of your choice (adjust the dimensions accordingly, add the hat or else your team's logo will sit on your forehead).

I've looked over the formats for equipment and exercise, and they're fairly easy to read and modify. For example, in a few minutes, I replaced the Silver Slugger AI (contact +1) with Bretts Slugger (contact +8). Adding a new piece of equipment to the appropriate file would also be pretty easy. It remains to be seen, however, if the new equipment would be usable in-game.

I thought I read mention that an official equipment editor would be released. If that's the case, then it's hardly worth trying to write one.

how about a list of all equiment's advantage/disadvantages, ratings requirements so you can know what to look for?

If you know how to read the equipment file, Brett, maybe we can extract this info...

Yeah, that's a good idea. It'll be useful information to have, and also help with making an equipment editor.

I think I can do the extraction easily enough. I'll work on a program to do that tonight, and let you know how it goes.

I have the list of bats, shoes, and batting gloves and their properties finished. I'm going to post it over in the General Discussions forum. This better prove useful to someone

Just a heads-up

Just read it somewhere in the General Discussion forums. There's probably nothing to it.

Brett
If there is nothing to it...then please don't discourage people from making new files.

I don't believe he was trying to discourage anyone. He was just stating it wasn't worth it for HIM to try to write an editor if there is word of an official release. He did say "If that's the case".
