Missing Buttons?

I purchased OOTP 8 and installed the patch on a Vista machine. Everything works well, except on the Waiver/Free Agent/Show All Players screens, buttons have started disappearing. Sometimes one button (Filter), sometimes another (Position), but they go away. I've rebooted and restarted the program, but it keeps happening. I've attached a screenshot for your edification. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I've noticed this happening sometimes when I use the "back arrow" button to return to a page. Whenever it happens I load a new page and then browse to the page I was working on; that usually clears it up.

8.0.0.12, but when I hit the "check for updates" button, it says I don't need one. I'll go ahead and install .13. Might fix it. Still a neat bug.

Are the buttons completely gone, or are they invisible? Can you click on them?

This has been a problem for a long time. As I recall we had a lot of discussion about it for 2007, but the problem is apparently very well hidden and couldn't be found.

I see it all the time too, obviously. It's random, sometimes one will disappear, sometimes another... I can usually click around elsewhere (go to other screens, open a report or something) until the one I want is visible and a different one disappears. But once one goes, one will be gone until (I believe) a day is simmed, then they all might come back again.

I've noticed the same thing as well, but have never been able to figure out a common link that could be causing it.

I could be completely wrong here - but at one point I thought someone suggested changing to a new skin and then back to the other skin. I was having this problem all the time with an earlier version (might have even been OOTP 2006) but it eventually went away. I can't remember if I tried the skin thing or if an eventual patch just fixed it.

I'll do some more searching and see if I can't figure it out.

Well, I found the thread about it, but it looks like the problem was never solved, so I guess my suggestion of playing with the skins probably won't work.

Also note that the problem was with OOTP 2006. I haven't experienced it playing OOTP 2007 and I never purchased the "upgrade" to OOTP 8. And when I did my search, I didn't find any other discussion of the "disappearing buttons" problem in OOTP 2007. I hope this bug hasn't somehow popped back up with the OOTP 8 code. :-(

Maybe someone else has some insight.

Without a way to reproduce this issue, I have been informed that it cannot be fixed.
