Game crashed when I promoted manager

Hey, it's me again.

So, I finished m first season last night at about 5:30 am. Lost a brutal series in the ALCS (managed every single game) and went on into the post season. My manager's contract was up and I made no effort to re-sign him because I had a great, inexpensive internal candidate in AAA. So, I go to promote him to manager and...the game crashes. I lose ALL progress since my last save. All the playoffs are gone and I'm back to October 3rd (my birthday, as well as Dave Winfield's, and the least happy I've ever been to see that on the calendar). Frustrated does not begin to cover it.

Before the awful crash, I also noticed a strange financial problem. I was set to lose $24 million dollars (I'm like a Donald Trump casino). I had $50 million in cash. But when I checked my cash on October 25th, after the season, I had negative $10 million. Any thoughts there?

One last strange development - the game fired just about every GM in baseball. Theo Epstein, who led the Red Sox to an AL East crown and then a first round loss? Gone. Very strange.

Known issue, thought fixed for 8, but there have been many reports of issues like this.

is there a salary cap? did the owner take money from the team? Where thier a lot of bonuses paid to players.

There is an issue with the Quick start game that has this happen, no-one seems to know why.

Sorry about your trouble, bgheadjack. This is indeed a known issue, logged as BZ 256. More details are in the link below, but promoting coaches or scouts are going to crash the game if they are being promoted to an open spot.

Ok, good to know about the managers.

As for my financial issue, I don't know if the owner took money (my game crashed). There is no salary cap or revenue sharing, though, leading me to believe this is an issue.

Playing a baseball simulation, I would think the two most important things are player development and financial management...
