No Chance at Just Released Free Agents
In one of my leagues, I play alone against the AI. I play out every single game on my part and don't skip days. Often, I notice that teams will release a player and then another team will immediately sign that player without me ever having had a chance at him. In other words, when I view the "all transactions" at the end of the day and before going to the next day, the player hasn't been released. Then, after having played all games out, I then click the simulate to next day and then the next day, there's a transaction where the player was released by one AI team and then signed by another AI team before I ever had a chance to offer him a contract. Don't know if this is a bug but I'm looking for a way to work-around. At least three times I've spotted a player that could have helped me but instead signed a minor league deal with another team instantly. Thanks.

While I don't think this is alarmingly present, it does happen occasionally, and it continues to disappoint me when it does. The last time I brought this up was here:
Personnel & Players Leaving Sign Same Day with AI I usually try to find some rationalization for the incident- the fix was in with the other team -or immediately try to seek out a trade agreement if he would have been of great impact.

My suspicion is that this is an intentional design decision. If the human player always had priority over AI teams, the human player could easily stack his minors and coaching ranks with the best available talent. The game needs to do *something* to ensure AI teams get a fair shot at available talent. I accept it as part of the challenge.

I'm not looking for priority over AI teams as much as an equal chance to seek the free agent's services - like the other team offers a minor league deal and I'll offer him a big league deal. Since I don't know when a player is about to be released (I have waivers off in my game), I can't really seek a trade for the players in question. For me, this isn't occasional either now. In my league, it's happening about once a week now and rarely does a free agent get released without another team snapping him up, this because I'm using a database league with ghost minor league players and so the amount of talent available is pretty thin. Thanks for the feedback.

I have been told that this is working as designed and will not be changed.
