BZ 1410: Mac Crash on startup

I have used the default install for OOTP 9.

- Install went smooth

- Was able to license the game with no problem

- Changed resolution (in game - windowed) to 1440x900

- Restarted game

- Changed resolution to 1280x1024

- Tried to restart game. Got one "bounce" and then nothing.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, and I get the same thing every time. This happened to me last year, and the only thing that saved me was the fact that Apple released Leopard around that time. For some reason, the upgrade cured the problem.

I checked the install.log to see if it put itself anywhere besides the applications folder (library, maybe?) and found nothing.

I'm stuck. Dead in the water. This 33 year old father of 2 is about to cry like a baby.

Same exact problem happening for me. Changed resolution. Closed game and tried to restart and one bounce and close. Uninstall and reinstall hasn't helped.

Also believe it was after trying to change to the 1280 resolution that it stopped working.

Try deleting your Application Data\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 9 folder and reloading your game. (Sorry, I don't know the exact file path on a Mac).

Please let us know if that allows you to at least load the game on the default resolution.

Same problem here, also after changing to 1280 resolution. Have deleted the Users/[username]/Documents/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 9 directory and the one in Applications, then restarted and reinstalled, but game still doesn't start.

Done. I've deleted everything involving OOTP from my computer. Nothing has worked.

Me, too -- dead as a doornail. Similar story to the others here although I changed the resolution to 1152 rather than 1280 so the problem isn't limited to that one choice of window size.

MacOS 10.4.11
MacBook 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
1 MB RAM

This issue has been logged as BZ # 1410. I'm going to mess around with it, though, and see what else I can figure out before then.

Just so I'm clear, is there anyone here who has this problem without changing screen resolution?

If the problem is due to the screen resolution then it makes sense that uninstalling dosen't solve it. It seems that OOTP remembers the resolution from install to install. Sit tight guys, we will push to get this solved ASAP. Mac support has been top shelf this beta.

The Mac version has the config files in a hidden system folder now. Please try to delete the files. Sorry I don't know how to do this without using the terminal window... You would have to open a terminal window and enter the following:

rm -f "/Users/your user name/.Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 9/config/app"

Hit Enter and start the game again. The file will be created automatically with default settings.

1. Open up any Finder window, and type "Terminal" in the search window. Your Mac should find an application called "Terminal" that looks like a little black computer screen.

2. Double-click Terminal. You'll get a window full of obscure programmy stuff.

3. Type in the command Andreas listed above, exactly as he listed it, and then hit Enter. It's important not to miss the "." in there, because that indicates it's a "hidden" folder.

Let us know if this works!

Thanks,

Steve

Works for me, too.

Strangely, after changing the resolution again this time, it works properly.

Thanks
