Gentlemen,

Maybe I've had too much scotch, or it's just old age, but I do think that there is a small readme file in one of the folders that the game creates that talks about teams and their colors and needing these codes in some format to have it work. I'm going to look for it, but I'm old and slow, so one of you whipper snappers might find it first.

The pixie program that was linked to in this thread is very good. You can cut and paste right into the hex field in the team colors page. Saves me lots of time. Thanks to the linker.

The following link has the official colors. I haven't looked at the file here, so I don't know how close they are, but figured this would be a good reference to post in this thread even if they're all 100% accurate.

I don't see the Twins on that list.

I would like to implement the OOTP MLB Color Code file into my AULogoWatchDog program, however, the format is not the best for me.

If someone could redo this file (1st post of the thread) in this format:

1. 1st line should just be the header (YEAR, TEAM, BACKGROUND, TEXT)
2. NO BLANK LINES in the file
3. DO NOT repeat the header information
4. Commas between the information instead of tabs

The list should be like this:

YEAR, TEAM, BACKGROUND, TEXT
Houston Colts,1962,002850,FF401F
Houston Astros,1971,E0003F,10077E
Houston Astros,1975,FF7720,00274F
Houston Astros,1983,00274F ,FF4010
Houston Astros,1994,00284F ,DEA541
Houston Astros,2000,302F2F ,A92C24
New York Highlanders, 1901, etc..

The team name MUST match the way the team name is being imported in to the game. My program would then look up and find the correct background and text colors and assign them accordingly

If someone could redo this list into this format, it would be easy for me to implement it into my existing program.

Oh well, I thought it would have been a nice option to add, I guess no one else agrees.

Larry -- I'll work on this at some point today. Probably when I get fed up trying (and failing) to debug the Java version of my devTracker.

...With one request. Also add it to the LogoPro program. I play fictional, so don't use the Watchdog version.

Alright, done. It was easier than I thought it'd be. Though, I did have to look up a lot of franchises to see when it was they moved. And the years aren't all 100% accurate, but if you include this file with your program (instead of it being hardcoded), I'm sure users can/will edit this file to their own exact specs.

Thanks!!

OK, I started to work on this and it is actually going to be very easy, well, at first glance.

Now I am seeing that the colors are saved here in Hex:

Philadelphia Athletics,1901,1500B2,F0FFFF

However, reading the readme.txt file in the logo folder, I see this:

Cannibals_204102050_210210001_sometext.png.

In this case, the background color will be R = 204, G = 102, B = 050 (RGB as in Red/Green/Blue is a color code used by many imaging programs). The text color will be R=210, G=210, B=001. And the "sometext" will just be ignored.

I am assuming that I have to convert the 'F0FFFF" into decimal. I am also assuming that it would be FO=RED FF=GREEN and the other FF=BLUE.

So, I guess I convert the 3 values to decimal and append it onto the file name.

Anyone with me on this?

E-mail me at larry@cfl.rr.com or IM me at webcomedian@msn.com if you know

I'm not 100% certain on this, but maybe around 99.

Just parse the color by two indices at a time, convert and append to the file name.
And, as I'm sure you know, converting from hex to decimal is a cinch.

either:

Dim s As String = "FF"
MsgBox(CInt("&H" & s))

or:

Dim s As String = "FF"
MsgBox(Convert.ToInt32(s, 16))

I have updated the program.

When you run it, there is a check box that is checked called USE COLORS.

It will then attempt to locate the team in the text file (which it will automatically download and put in the CL\AU2007 folder)

So, you end up with something like this:

Detroit_Tigers_484747_2491661.png

However, I can't get it to work. However, if you go to the team in OOTP and edit team logo and hit LOAD logo, it does load it and load the colors.

Can someone else test this?

Will try this today or tomorrow. Did you only update the watchdog version or pro, as well?

I'm sorry Larry, but I've got bad news about the color edits. I used your program on my latest 1901 league. The logos came in as usual (sporadically and over time), but the team colors had to be edited manually. I've done this color editing a few times, so it was no big deal. But they were not automatically added.

I do love your program. But I always wonder why the changes occur over a period of several hours. It takes the logos a long while to show up, even after the program says that it has placed them.

Beggars can't be choosers though, and I am more curious about the lag than upset about it. I eventually get all the correct logos. The logo program has helped me in about 10 games so far, so thanks a bunch for your work! Sorry I don't have better news about the colors. (I did have the "color" box checked on the program, and I did allow the "automatic update" to proceed when asked the last time I used the program).

Yeah, I tried, too with no luck. Where are the files being renamed with the color codes? I couldn't find the renamed logos anywhere.
