Custom Cap and Jersey Template

The new custom and jersey Photoshop/GIMP template has been submitted to PadreFan' s site. The link can be found in my signature as Jersey and Cap GIMP/Photoshop Templates.

Here is the readme file:
Deft and No Peppers Custom Jersey and Cap Templates for OOTP2007+
Overview:
This is a template to be used with a layer supported graphics program (GIMP, Photoshop,etc..) to make custom uniforms and cap for OOTP2007+.
By turning on layers and changing colors a multitude of uniform options can be attained for anything from 19th Century jerseys to modern era MLB teams.

None of these files are supported, connected to Photoshop or OOTP, or for sale so use at your own risk
Updates from JerseyTemplate_V1.0
-Added a Cap Template
-Added No Pepper's Collection of Vintage Cap and Jersey template
-Added New Textures and Shadows
-Added a tight fitting vintage cap
-Added a stingy brim cap

Instructions:
Jersey Instructions.
create a team template:
1) Using a layer supported graphics program (GIMP, Photoshop,etc..), open the jersey_template file and select the layer you like best
2) Change the colors by either changing the layer blending color or the solid fill color.
3) Make sure the sleeves, collar and main jersey front and back are at the minimum active before saving.
4) Add Logo or Text in the logo layer, this can be moved down below textures and shadows for a more subtle appearance
5) Save as a .png file
6) Once saved load in game or used the customization section from the manual to automatically load in the game.

Cap Instructions.
Follow same format as the jersey except when making caps only use layers from the layer set of the cap you are using.

Awesome stuff!!! Thanks Deft (and No Pepper) these are both fantastic... Though I hope you realise that now I am going to waste the rest of my Sunday messing around with them!

Got it. Would there be any reason why, when I open the jersey_template_v2.0 with Paint Shop Pro 8, that all I get is one layer? The cap_template works just fine, as does your previous jersey template release.

EDIT: It worked fine with GIMP - though GIMP is not quite as layer-friendly.

Same issue. Cap is fine, last jersey is fine. Thanks.

Deft,

Have you had a chance to think about this?

Micropterus58 is working this. See his quote below:

I added some jersey textures posted in the forums and used and or modified Ambermonk's layers and made some of my own. I then copied many of your new layers to my 'super' template. Actually I made a vintage and a modern template. With your permission I would like to upload the templates to Padresfan's site so the PSP users will be able to use the files. I think I'll make a PSP7 version also. Of course I will credit you and Ambermonk(if he OKs it). Thanks again, I just wish the game would let us zoom in more so we could see the fruits of our labor better.

I still cannot find the file with the PSP layers. Has it been uploaded to Padrefan's site yet? I checked every file there and could not find it. Since I use the new Paintshop Pro X2 I would certainly like to get those files. Thanks!

I saw that post and went and got the files. Thanks for hosting them PadresFan. Sorry if I sounded like I was being a little pushy. I didn't realize that you just updated the files on Sunday. Anyway, thank you much.
My problem now that I can put them in PSP X2, I have no idea how to use them. I am a complete moron when it comes to layers. I really am... The problem I am having is not so much knowing how to put the layers together, but knowing what each layer represents in a uniform?? It would be so very nice and I know a lot of work, but it would be so nice if someone could be a little more specific and tell me what each layer represents in the finished product? I am just winging it right now and not doing things the right way but I have no idea by looking at each layer, where it is on the uniform itself. A chart explaining that would be very nice.

Anyway, thanks for creating the layer files and thanks for making them available for download on your site, PadresFan. Maybe I will get it figured out one of these days by trial and error. I seem to be doing that a lot in this game.....

This is a great tool, but haven't figured out how to do like pinstripes just on the sleeve or jersey.

When you paste the pinstripe template in, color the sleeve or jersey pinstripes (whichever you want to have) in the "pinstripe" color, and the pinstripes that you don't want to keep the same color as the background jersey color. Then when you merge the layers, you'll just get the pinstripes where you want them.

I don't know if anyone is interested or not, but I created another shading layer for both the jersey and the cap. I made it from actual pictures to get a realistic but subtle effect, I think...

I can post it here or whatever, if anyone wants it...

Thanks again to you guys for creating this template in the first place. I've added a few of my own touches here and there along the way, but never would have even started, probably, if not for this template...
