First Logo Attempt
Just been playing around with micropterus58's circular logo templates. Still have some issues to figure out, like how to rotate the text of 'Seattle' so it's centered and why everything needs to be converted to raster layers to change the text color (maybe I'm doing it wrong, idk), but here's my first addition to the logo community.
The Seattle Sounders. I tried to stick with only the team colors. Four different color combinations, so you guys can figure out what works best for your team. Eventually I'll figure out how to make shiny logos. |

Those look good. Very well done. As for the Seattle letters being a little off center, if you hadn't told me that I would have never noticed. And I am not good at using any graphic program so will have to do as you and wing it for awhile. But so far it looks like you are getting it very well. Good luck with the future stuff you do.

Good job.
My suggestion would be to make the text a little bit smaller, so it fits nice. As you have it, it looks cramped. Also use contrasting colors so the text shows nicely and easy to read. The black on blue and vice versa, that you used, is a little hard to read. If you want to use those colors together, try putting a white stroke around the letters and you might be surprised at how much better the letters look. The stroke can give it a nice outline of the letters. |

I'll give some tips on using the logo template. I hope I don't get too basic. Raster layer colors can be changed by using the fill tool. Vector layers offer more flexibility. You can change sizes and add strokes (borders). Double click on an ellipse. You get a vector property box. From here you can modify the stroke, which is set to 0, or you can change colors. Right click on the stroke or fill color and you get the recent swatches. Left click and you get the materials properties. With either of these you can change colors.
Text - Raster layers would be useless because you could not edit them. The text is added to a vector circle so it wraps around the circumference. I hide the circle so you can't see it. Double click on the text layer. You get a text entry box. Enter your text. Enter the city name/nickname or whatever you want. Use the lower name if you want. Text path is reversed on this layer. While in the text entry box you can modify many attributes. The font, font size, bold, italic, stroke, colors, offset and kearning. Offset effects the distance from the hidden ellipse or how far the text is positioned from the edge. Kearning effects the spacing between letters. To change colors of the letters, while in the text entry box, use the swatches or materials palette. Rotating text - You will have to rotate text since the font, font size, kearning, stroke and the text itself all effect the length. Click on the text layer in the layers palette. Click on the Object Selection Tool. The text should now be within a rectangle. Drag the center handle to move left or right or use the rotation handle. Logos - Paste a logo with an invisible background as the top layer. Other wise you logo will have to have the same color background as you inner color, in most cases white. I included an Avon Anteaters logo as a sample. I used a Graphics Plus Starlight filter to give a little shine. Thanks to cesaphjames for the logo. Fonts - I used the Arial Black font included with MS Office. If you don't have it installed, your graphics program will substitute another. Tips - Do whatever you want. It's your logo. Turn layers off, add layers, etc. Use the vector layers or the raster layers. Whatever you prefer. Here's how to do reverse text on a path. Reverse Text on a Path - Paint Shop Pro Photo |
