Less MRs, more SPs, and more position players in draft please
Each amateur draft I've seen so far has about 3 SPs worth drafting, maybe 5 position players, and about 30 MRs. In order to draft a decent SP or position player you basically have to have one of the first ten picks, and then you only get one or the other. Where is talent supposed to come from to continue a game after 5 seasons?
It wouldn't be so bad if some of the MRs with good stamina could be converted to SPs, but none of them that I've tried have either a) done OK with just two pitches or b) developed a third pitch. The best I can do is stockpile good MRs and try to trade 2 or 3 for one, but most of the other teams have a pile of MRs now so even that is becoming difficult. It's starting to get really depressing |

Agreed. I've noticed this too. By the time I draft, there's either no talent, or nothing but MR's

I could be wrong but it seems to me that most teams should be made up of 2 and 3 star players. There are only a spattering of 4 and 5 stats as should be the case. Also just as some never reach their potential some will exceed original projections and star for a long time. Also the more teams playing the more of the better players are available.
Just an observation on my part. I have no idea of the programming of the game. Regardless right or wrong I love this game. It needs some tweaking but no major issues. Keep up the good work iootp team. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm not talking about the stars, I'm talking about individual attribute ratings. Some of my best performers are 2-3 star players I carefully selected due to particular attributes, independent of the star rating system.
I haven't had a single player out-develop their potential yet, but I've had close to a dozen who haven't made it any where near their potential. I'm not bitter that guys don't reach their potential, but it's not like they're balanced out by overachivers. The draft pool in general just lacks talent. |

For example, after my third seasons I was browsing the available free agents by star rating and out of the top 5 screens, all but 4 were MRs (some demanding ludicrous salaries, far above the best position players).

I completely agree. There aren't even that many first round worthy SP prospects, most SP are 1 star potential guys. In real life, there are very few MR and CL prospects drafted highly. It certainly doesn't mimic the current state of MLB, which of course is what all of us offline players trying to do. Has anyone had any success with SP depth, or developing later round SP prospects in the draft?
