alpha order for fictional cities

if i'm adding in a bunch of cities and towns from a fictional country do they need to be in alpha order with the rest of the cities file or can I simply add them at the end of the list?

Just add them at the end.

Turns out that adding them at the end doesn't work.

It worked fine for me. Are you adding them with the game open? If so, close the game and then add them. Then re-load the game.

I'm doing it with the game closed, going into the cities.txt file from my desktop. I am using a mac version so I don't know if that's a concern but that seems unlikely.

I agree with you; the Mac thing shouldn't make a difference. Not trying to be funny, but did you remember to add your fictional nation to the nations.txt file?

No offense taken,
actually I had an inconsistency in my geographical data. Once I fixed that it worked fine.

Now I need to find out how I change the Nations page so i can put the total population of my country in it.

Total population is calculated by the game adding up all the number of people in cities.txt with that nation number.

The very first bug I reported was titled "The world is missing billions of people". It turns out to not be a bug.

Many people don't live in defined places, so that is why China, India, and Indonesia look so wrong in the population field on the Nations page.

Right you are. As soon as I got the list to work I noticed that I had a population of 14 million and change in my nation which was the total of the cities/towns I had entered.
