Suggested Additions to Cities.txt for a 1900's league

I'd like to make some suggestions for addition to cities.txt.

I'm currently working on a 1901 league, and I've been dismayed to notice that some players don't have cities. I would have hoped that all cities in the lahman database would be represented. But they aren't, so as I go along, I'll suggest some 'key' additions for future editing of the cities.txt.

I'll try to include data for the Cities I find missing, and if I find cities that have had their names changed since then, I'll post into on that too.

Truxton, NY (John McGraw)
Burslem, England (Al "Shoddy" Shaw)
Eckley, PA (Barney McFadden)
Fond Du Lac, WI (Bert Husting)
North Brookfield, MA (Bill Bergen)
Odessa, Ukraine (Bill Cristall)
Nelliston, NY (Bill "Bad Bill" Dahlen)
Allenport, PA (Bill "Whoa Bill" Phillips)
Thorn Hill, OH (Bob Wood)
North Girard, PA (Bones Ely)
Brown County, MN (Burt Hart -New Ulm, MN?)
Taylortown, PA (Charlie "Piano Legs Hickman)
Clear Creek, MO (Clark Griffith)
Emlenton, PA (Claude Ritchie)
Calvert County, MD (Cupid Childs - Prince Frederick, MD?)
Gilmore, OH (Cy Young)
Lone Elm, KS (Dale Gear)
Williamsburg County, SC (Doc McJames - Kingstree, SC?)
Houcktown, OH (Dummy Hoy)
Queenstown, PA (Emmet "Snags" Hiedrick)
North Tarrytown, NY (Frank Murphy)
Luthersburg, PA (Frank Shugart)
Allegheny, PA (Frank Hartman)
Iberia, OH (Harry McNeal)
Galloway, PA (Jack Harper)
Gilbertville, MA (Jack McCarthy)
New Straitsville, OH (Jack Taylor)
Fitchburg, MA (Nixey Callahan, and James Callahan SP/3B, in cities.txt)
Upper Chanceford Township, PA (Jimmy Sheckard - I have no clue, Harrisburg?)
Rowlesburg, WV (Jock Menefee)
Sarpsborg, Norway (John "Honest John" Anderson)
Meadville, PA (John Dunn - Note, should be Jack Dunn, is in cities.txt)
Green Oak, MI (Jud Smith)
New Bethlehem, PA (Ossee Schreckengost *whew*)
LeSueur, MN (Roger "Peaceful Valley" Denzer)
Stoddard, WI (Roy "Pat" Patterson)
Calvert, TX (Rube Foster, Negro League Player)
Bouckville, NY (Snake Wiltse)
Bellaire, OH (Sol White, Negro League Player, comes up as Bellaire, TX)
French Creek, NY (Tommy Leach)
Cecil County, MD (Vic Willis - Elkton, MD?)
Lynch Station, VA (Watty Lee)
Blue Creek, OH (Wiley "Iron Man" Piatt)
Chartiers, PA (Honus Wagner - Is now Carnegie, PA)

That's everyone from 1901.

Other notes: Players born in St. Louis, etc of course come up as unknown. County Cork, Irish players like Patsy Donovan can be listed as Cork for ease of use, too, I think. Perhaps an edit of the lahman and other databases to replace some of these uses can quickly take care of the problems.

St. Louis is Saint Louis for the purposes of OOTP 2006.

If you can come up with population and latitude/longitude, I can make a request for addition to the official file. Heck, if I get bored at work next week I may just pitch in and start doing this myself, using Google, Wikipedia, and this neat airport website I found.

Yeah, I noticed. I've already replaced all the Saint Louis origins in my league, and I also went and did a quick fix for it in my copy of the Arod-Garlon DB.

I am having fun tracking some of this stuff down. I am using old census data from the 1870's, a student activist site, a weather site, and the Yellow Pages.

Yeah, it's hard finding some of this stuff. I was using wikipedia for some of it, as they sometimes list L&L and pop. figures. Anyway, haven't had much time to work on it, as It's been busy as hell at work between the local flooding here in NJ and PA and the 4th of july Coming up.
