Cities.txt Omission

Just thought I would point out that the cities.txt has at least one fairly glaring omission. Augusta, GA (home of the masters) is not on the list. Not a big deal to change, but came as a frustrating shock in trying to align my minor leagues to their parent clubs.

I don't expect any real action to be taken to fix this small thing, but I thought that maybe we could start a little log for cities to add for the next release or something. Or just ignore me.

I believe it's listed as Augusta-Richmond.

A lot of cities are listed dually.

There are also other quirks. The tiny town (village really) I live in is not listed, yet the neighboring community that uses our post office is, and its listed under that town's name with the combined population of both it and here.

The best bet is just to go into the cities.txt and do a search for any sizable town that is missing and see if its listed with another. Failing that, try looking for a neighboring community and see if its listed under that instead.

If you have a spreadsheet and the urge, you can do what I did and rebuild the cities.txt file using corrected and edited data from the Census Bureau's official places2k.txt file, which can be found at
