Disappearing information

I added a fictional country with roughly 500 cities and towns into my database. This all worked fine when I was working in a universe based in my fictional country.

However, when I started another universe which is based on the traditional North American baseball set-up I discovered that my new nation shows up and generates players and coaches like it should, but none of the cities and towns show up. Instead, all the free agent players and coaches are listed with the correct nationality but their birthplace being listed as unknown.

Since the one file for cities and towns is used for all universes you create, does anyone have any ideas on how to correct this problem?
