Are you logged in as Administrator?

Did you install the game as Administrator?

Are you running the game by right clicking and choosing "Run As Administrator"?

I am the admin on the machine... I have tried running as admin and xp mode

I am going to try a reinstall. Now I had to use the offline license tool to get it installed. I don't know if that is an issue.

It shouldn't, but I'll bear that in mind if others have a similar problem.

Did you install it to the recommended default location?

What kind of background software are you using? Type of antivirus? Etc? Try making sure that everything else is closed and try again.

Another idea, if you're stuck:

Try reinstalling, but to a DIFFERENT directory. I know, seems antithetical, but for example, install it to c:\ootp10 or something. Anyway, just another thing to try.

Ok... I just used logmein.com and connected to my home PC which is running Vista Ultimate and installed and with pulling license from the internet and it is running fine on there. It might be an issue with the offline license maybe. I will try it again when my laptop has internet access.

Very interesting.

I'm glad that you got this figured out. I will close out this thread as you seem to be all set.
