game crashes at waiver wire

Game crashes when i go to check the waiver wire or check free agents.
What can I do to fix this.

I'm guessing the dev guys will want a copy of your league file so they can check it out. Until one of them responds though, can you give any more details? Does it happen all the time or just on a certain date or during a certain time of year (preseason, offseason, etc)? Have you tried all the methods to get to the waiver wire and free agent lists, and if so do you have the same problem no matter how you try to access the lists? Do you have other leagues, and if so does it happen in all of them?

I run Vista, so I think that may be it.
My game quit working one time, and after that i reopened it and went to the waivers and it closed. And every way to get to the waiver wire it closes, even with new games or saved games.

Well, I'll let one of the dev team step in now. I don't know if it's related to Vista as I run it on Vista and have no problems. The only suggestion I can make at this point is to uninstall OOTP and reinstall it and see if that fixes your problem.

Can you zip up the .dat files in your saved game directory and FTP them to us as per the instructions in http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...-files-us.html and we'll have a look to see what is happening.

I can't replicate this problem with your database files unfortunately. Is it only the waiver wire screen that makes the game crash, and is it on every league you create?

Waiver Wire, Free Agent, etc.
Every time i make a new game it does the same now, even if i uninstall and reinstall, or even if I restore my PC to an earlier date and try to run the saved game it does the same.

I wouldn't be qualifed to guess whether this is a vista issue, but if Tony can't replicate the problem, it certainly points to a system-related issue. Have you updated to 10.2.16 and still experienced this behaviour?

I still get the same thing with patch 1 and 2.

Can you please try this?

1. Make a copy of your OOTP shortcut.
2. Modify the properties of the copy, and add the word "tracemode" to the end of the "Target," so it looks something like this:

c:\program files\out of the park developments\ootp baseball 10\ootp10.exe tracemode

3. Start OOTP using this new shortcut.
4. Try to make the game crash. Once it has, look in your /data directory for a file called "ootp.log" and post that information here.

Hmm, even after following the steps above, no ootp.log file is being created?

Were you able to create the shortcut with the "tracemode"?

Have you tried searching your computer for the ootp.log?

I couldn't find the .log file even when I searched. And yes, I was successful with the tracemode shortcut I do believe.

I keep coming back to this, but I'm running out of ideas.

Is there any way you could go to the Properties page of your new shortcut, take a screenshot, and either post it here, or e-mail it to me at steve (dot) battisti (at) ootpdevelopments (dot) com?

I really want to get this fixed for you.
