After some frustration, I realized that my antivirus protection (CA, Suite 2010) was blocking OOTP 10. i went in to the antivirus setting found the setting for OOTP10 and disabled a few checkbox. After that - no issues.

I'm having this same issue with OOTPX and Win 7. The only anti-virus I have installed is Windows Security Essentials. I'll try adding OOTP as an exception.

When I first installed OOTPX on a fresh installation of Win 7, I had to do the various tricks with DEP/runservice.exe and eventually got Windows to tell me I was missing a needed .DLL. I tracked it down, added it to the windows/system folder and OOTPX worked!

Then last night it suddenly wasn't working again. Same error code (0xc0000005) as noted above in this thread. Haven't a clue.

I'll try modifying some of the security features with Win 7 tonight, but it's odd that I got it working and then it stopped.

Hi folks,

I'm trying desperately to resolve some of these older issues. If anyone is still alive out there, can I get a status on whether people are still experiencing these problems?

The problem Im having is my old PC fried. Got my new one up and running. Im using OOTP 6 and 6.5. I entered my order ID for both and 6 works fine but 6.5 tells me that "No valid OOTP 6 license was found on this system! Please license OOTP 6 before launching the 6.5 expansion pack." Ive uninstalled 6.5 twice now and reinstalled and it gives me the same thing.

My old pc died as well so I got a new laptop and OOTP worked fine.

I'm pretty sure my issues were related to anti-virus software as well (which is odd since I was just running McAfee).

Anyway, thanks for the follow-up but this isn't an issue for me any more.
