Tie Breakers With Playoffs Disabled
Here's a thread you might want to merge as I don't think this issue can be managed:
Two teams tied for first, no tie breaker scheduled Questions: 1. Can you add games to the schedule at the end of the season if playoffs are disabled and have them count? 2. If so, do they need to be playoff games or regular season games? 3. If not, then what are the tie-breakers? ![]() #1 In the picture above there is a 6-team league, the top two teams tied after 154 games. The Los Angeles Angels won the season series over the Oakland Oaks 15-14. So I scheduled one more regular season game giving the Angels home-field to decide the Champion. The Angels won the game, but Oakland was crowned. All of my settings are within this thread: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...49-1969-a.html

Pbar,
Thanks for your post, and sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The first few weeks after the release are always pretty busy around here! *sigh* This is good information, but I have to admit I have no answers for you right now. I'm fairly certain that the answer to your first question is "Yes, but they won't have any impact on who is crowned the champion." Which isn't a great answer, I realize. I was under the understanding that head-to-head record was the tie-breaker, but your example seems to belie that, so I'll have to find out from Markus.

Then, on the originally scheduled end of the season, sim the game(s) that might result in a tie. If no tie results, then you should be able to delete the extra game you added without issue, after which you can sim the rest of the day. If there is a tie, then you already have your tiebreaking game in the schedule. Just be sure to delete the extra game from the schedule after you've proceeded to the next season. I don't think there are any set tiebreakers. I've pointed out the importance of getting tiebreaking done properly, but unfortunately, it has been left on the back burner so far...
