Importing from OOTP 9

I imported my league. It seems everything got transferred but I had two issues.

- Most pitching ratings were dramaticaly altered. On a 20-80 scale,I had guys go from 20-22 to 45 or 50. Its skewed all the ratings and caused massive transactions.

- Some but not all history transferred.

- Most of the messages but not all got deleted.

Any suggestions, especailly on getting messages and history back -- thanks.

Which ratings jumped from 20-22 to 45 or 50? OVR/POT ratings? That may be because the default player AI evaluations settings have changed. Take a look at those in your Game Setup.

What type of history didn't transfer?

As for messages, you should be able to simply copy over your relevant folder(s) from your OOTP 9 .lg folder into the same place in your OOTP 10 .lg folder.

I'm having the same problem. I had posted previously on it but didnt really hear much back. Here is my scenario from my original post:

I have imported a custom 16 team league with a 108 game schedule from OOTP 8 into OOTP 10. I have played 3 seasons since the import now and have noticed some drastic problems with the ratings of every pitcher in the league. The highest stuff rating of any pitcher in the league is an 11 out of 20. There are only 9 pitchers who have a stuff rating over 7 out of 20. This means 5 star pitchers with 6 or below in the stuff category. In the two years since the input league batting averages have jumped from .259 to .301 and league ERA's have gone 4.09 to 5.35. Is there anyway I can fix the ratings?

UPDATE: As i was posting this I tried to get into the game so that I could post AI player evaluation settings on here, but I now can't open the league at all. I'm getting a message that says OOTP has stopped working and it closes. What should I do?!?!?

My ratings problems haven't been that drastic. Its more like the overall and potential ratings are skewed, but the underlying ratings have stayed the same. So its almost how the system reads them. but its seems odd a 27/27 guy is now being rated as 55/55.

On the history, none of the player history, like the transactions came over, though all of the league history seems to have (except the hall of fame -- which is okay since clemens was the only one elected so far -- that might be a good fix.

And all my messages didn't transfer either -- how do you bring that over?

What happens with pitch selections when one import an ongoing dynasty from OOTP9 to X.

The old OOTP9 got pitch seletions based on chance, but now X got mostly correct pitches for pitchers.

Does this import work ????

That's because some of the AI player evaluations settings have changed. Look around in Game Setup and tinker around a bit if desired.

Copy the contents of your OOTP Baseball 9\data\saved_games\LEAGUENAME.lg\messages folder into to your OOTP Baseball 10\data\saved_games\LEAGUENAME.lg\messages folder.

Do the same with your OOTP Baseball 9\data\saved_games\LEAGUENAME.lg\news\txt\players folder and your OOTP Baseball 9\data\saved_games\LEAGUENAME.lg\news\txt\teams folder as well. That should do the trick.

dman, it seems that your problem isn't exactly the same as the original poster's problem. It would probably help if you could post your own tech support thread so we can give your case the individual attention it deserves!

Ditto for you, clamel, although I'm not quite sure if there was an issue in there...
