OOTP 10 stops running after accessing Available personnel

latest version of OOTP 10

after the first season I can do everything else but when I try to access available personnel, either from the drop down menu or from the free agent page, the game stops working and i get a message that OOTP X has stopped working and the windows will check for a solution. It just ends up crashing to the desktop however.

There is no resolution yet, but if you would like to provide more information to the questions I asked in that thread, more info is always good, so please post in that thread!
