ootp10linuxsetup.tar.gz not extracting properly

I'm running Ubuntu 9.04, had this problem on both 32 bit and 64 bit installs. Here's the rub, when I try to extract in my tmp folder, or on the destop - via terminal and fileroller - it just extracts one file called "ootp10linuxsetup" as a stand alone file - no folder, or install files.

Things I've ruled out
- I've changed all the permissions to write
- I've checked diskspace "df -h", not an issue, I have another 100 gigs
- I've tried this on both 32 bit and 64 bit installs

Please help... Any Ideas?

tar xvf ootp10linuxsetup.tar.gz
chmod 755 ootp10linuxsetup
./
ootp10linuxsetup

That should do the trick.

wunderbar, this works on a 32 bit install. Now for a 64 bit install, I get a "segmentation fault" error, and can't install. Is there any easy way to find the 32 bit comparability packages to install on x64?

Thanks

Don't know the name of the package(s) but Ubuntu does have them - just search. Be more specific on the error and the point that it happens. Take me step-by-step thru your process.
