Select to play game and I am told to re-purchase

I'm running Ubuntu 32-Bit, 9.04.

I bought ootp10. Installed and played it. I did some software updating. Not sure if this caused the problem as I have read it has to others.

Also, I have an shortcut on the desktop so I right-clicked on it, selected properties, and under the permissions section checked the box that says, " Allow executing file as program". I was thrilled when that made my icon on the desktop really show the ootp10 logo and not just the piece-of-paper that was the icon before.

Now, though, when I click to play the game, whether it is the desktop icon or the link under Applications in the gnome menu, I get the screen that tells me to purchase online or cancel. I have added a screenshot to be specific.

Does anyone have any idea how I can make this game work again? I would hate to have to use my second and last license when I only used the first one for an hour of game play.

Thanks,
Randy

Edit: You can see to the left of the red-squared-screen that I already started a game called Randy Game 1 and it is shaded out. That must mean my game is somewhere, no?

The Linux licensing is very very sensitive. I guarantee you that the updates you did caused the licensing to become invalid. Always unlicense the game before you attempt any system updates or ootp updates whatsoever.

That being said, you should be able to go to the PISD site and "Request Release". That should make your key work again after you reenter it.

I hope this helps.

Irishray's response should have resolved the OP's issue, and since we haven't heard back in a week, I'm going to go ahead and close this issue out.

Please just PM me if you feel this needs to remain open.

Thanks very much,

Steve
