Problem with new patch???

This is still a bit preliminary, but are signs point towards a big flaw in the new patch.

It seems when you are simming a bunch of seasons that the collective ERA (in league history) starts to climb. I wanted to start my own "back history" of the league and so started the simming in 1955 and was going to start playing in 2009, so it would have a filled out league history. Before I did that, I ran some trial runs with the league totals to get the 4.4 era I was looking for along with a league BA around 260 or so. It started out fine, but over the course of about 30-40 seasons of simming, the ERA started to escalate and by the end of 40 seasons, it had escalated from 4.4 to nearly 5.0. I don't remember seeing this problem in the previous patch, but noticed it right away after implementing the new one. Has anyone else come across this problem? I am going to downgrade my patch to the older one to see if that alleviates the problem once I sim another 20 seasons to see if the ERA continues to climb. Any help would be great...

League totals are meant to shift some over time. This is normal behavior for any version of OOTP.

Not to this extreme...I used to have between 2-5 pitchers ending the year with era's under 3, now the league leader is around 3.2 and the 5th place guy is around 3.8! That is more than just a gradual change. It is a trend so far, that I see always escalating. But then again, I am going to sim some more to see if these results are consistently increasing.
