MacBook Pro Startup Problem

I've searched the forums for my problem, and got a few hits, but they weren't the same thing as I'm experiencing.

I have downloaded OOTP 10 for my MacBook Pro laptop, and everything goes fine until I try to start the game, and an error bearing the message:

"OOTP found that the crashed_on_startup flag is set. Obviously the game crashed when you started it last time. OOTP will reset the graphics settings to default values. You can set them back later in the Game Preferences dialog."

Does this mean I am unable to play it on my laptop?

Also, I do not mean to bump my own thread, but another error that arises (that could be related to my problem above) is when I try to install the game, it gives me the option of opting out because my screen is too small. I didn't know if there was a requirement for screen size for OOTPX, particularly with a laptop...
