Slow/OOTP not responding
I am running OOTP 10 on a Desktop PC with Vista (Quad Core Processor, Dual NVidia Graphics cards).
I am able to play the game (using run as admin at first and now I can just double click on desktop icon to start) but it is extraordinarilly slow. I have been unable to encounter any of the crash bugs mentioned on the posts because the farthest I have gotten in one game has been jst after an amateur draft. -Auto-playing just a couple of days may take over a minute or more -Clicking for different reports or player pages sometimes freezes the screen for way too long - Doing either of the above actions may also cause my screen to freeze for longer periods with a message of "OOTP 10 not responding" (this comes with a change in screen color....the screen will change to an almost ghostly transparent white) I have tried to fix by adjusting game setup (not stopping auto-play for personal messages, no player photo, only saving human player box score) but this helps very little if at all. Please help. |

Are you suffering similar slowdowns with other programs on your machine?
Have you got a virus checker running? If so, can you exclude the OOTP saved games directory from it?

Turning off virus protection helped a lot...Thank you.
Although....another issue (which I was not allowed to start a thread for). Is it normal for so many prospects scouting reports to change for the worse every year? I have seen a couple of times now when I have a scouting director (with above 90 in every type of scout rating) who tells me players who I have or trade for are "future hall of famer" or "can't miss" only to have the ratings change dramatically for the worse ("jorneyman minor-leaguer" or worse). I realize this happens in real life, but on more than one occasion I have this happen to more than five-seven highly regarded prospects in a single year. This has nothing to do with the vast differences in scouting reports on scouting and ratings pages |
