Minor leaguer on the major league DL
I have a player on my major league DL despite him not playing there. He has spent all of the last 2 years in the minors. Here are some screen shots. He's Cesar Castillo.

The 60-day DL exists only for MLers. Or, to put it another way, a guy has to be put on the ML roster in order to be put on the 60-day DL. There are others who can explain this better than I can, but that's the key to what you are seeing.

ah. well the, judging from what you said, I will assume that he has to be promoted in order to be placed on the 60 day DL. I checked 2 weeks of transactions, and never saw him be promoted...

In 2059 he was playing for TB so would have been on the active roster, and even though he's now at AAA he would have to be on the 40-man, and thus putting him on the 60 day DL becomes an option.
There isn't a bug here as the choice you would have had would have been the short-length minor DL or the 60 day Major DL. At least putting him on the 60 day frees up a spot in your 40 man roster. I'll close this thread as it is not a bug with the game.
