Crash during start-up

I downloaded the demo. As the game loads, it gets to a message that says 'copy little_endian' during some baseball trivia screen. Then I get 'error report' and the game shuts off. I've tried re-starts & re-installs.
I'm running XP.

I get that same message, then a box that says something like .exe has experienced a problem and shuts down. Does anyone know how to fix this?
