Can you change a pitcher's role?

Is there anyway to change a pitcher from a closer to a starter other than in the player edit option screen?

Every time I change a pitcher from a reliever to a starter, the AI changes him back to a reliever.

From the Player's "Profile" page there is an option button at the bottom of the page "Set Position to...."
Change this as required.
If the AI still changes it you may have to check out the AI option settings as the AI may have control of the team....

Thanks for you reply. The AI does control the team. That is why I was asking if there is a way to permanently change the pitcher's role so the AI can't override it??

I assume you've figured out that the answer is no.

About the only way to get it to stick for an AI-controlled team would be to edit his stamina and pitches.

Well, it is pretty sad that the AI has Babe Ruth as a closer in 1916. He pitched 320+ innings. And there is nothing I can do to change this!!
