Facegen does not initialize

Title says it all, have tried it on standard, troubleshooting 1 and troubleshooting 2 none of them work. Went to manual and found that sometimes the app file needs to be changed to get facegen to work, followed your instructions to the letter---facegen does not initialize !!!

Anything?? Is this just another issue that's been deemed not an issue ? This isn't the only thread about face gen initialization so I know others have the issue, will it be fixed(or even addressed) or isn't it an issue to the company ?

What exactly happens?
Did Facegen ever work before on that computer, even with an earlier version of OOTP?
Does a re-installation help (delete the facegen folder manually before re-installing, then install on top of your installation)?
Which graphic card do you use?

Facegen has worked in all previous OOTP versions that included it, has never worked with OOTPX, have reinstalled, no effect, graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 7800GS

Just over a month now since this was posted and no meaningful reply ! I purchased the original OOTP and every version since except ootp 8 which was really the same game as ootp 2008. Along the way I purchased title bout, ITP and a couple games when you were .400 studios and EHM while you were part of SI. I purchased all these games because not only were they good games but until you joined SI your customer service was impeccable. Upon joining SI that began changing for the worse, and now that you are again independent customer service has totally become a thing of the past. I have this issue and an issue with schedules in historical sims that I brought up in July, neither has been addressed or fixed. This is not the company I dealt with and held in high regard, I'm afraid like so many other internet companies yours has decided that if the customer is upset its their fault not yours. They are either unreasonable or too impatient and like it or not that attitude is a prescription for failure. Somewhere in these forums you asked for suggestions to better market OOTP----here's one upgrade your customer service and your customer's satisfaction and they will tell others of your product with a positive twist. I've told many through the years how great this game was, over the last three years I've told many more to stay away from the game if they expect prompt resolution of issues-----the future is your choice just as it is with evert other company. Consider me a former customer, at least until you decide the customer is your most valuable asset as you once did.

Obviously, everything's running behind, including helping people out in the Tech Forum. I won't pretend to know the answer, but in just starting to 'try' to find the answer, I realized it may do you more good to look through it yourself. You'll know better than I what you've already tried, etc...

I entered the term facegen initialize into Search and set it to Show Posts and started looking around. There are several instances of this occuring, but none seem to be still going on other than yours (I may be wrong). Point being, take a look at the results and maybe PM or post one of the people that did get it to work if it doesn't say how in the post, but at least a couple DO say what they did and how they got over the hump.

I know doing the footwork yourself is no substitute for getting the help you expected here, but while you're waiting for another response you might as well try looking at all the various posts yourself. I'd only be suggesting what I find there. I do think there's hope for you and the improvement of the service. I know last version I spent a lot of time updating drivers, etc... and searching a lot on my own, but I got there.

Anyway, I tried, but it looks like the tool I'm using makes more sense in your hands. Good luck with it. Do post again if you run into something and I'll 'try' to keep an eye on the thread. Hang in there.

Mikey, I'm sorry, the problem is that there's not much we can do in this situation. You already tried all the things which I would suggest to try.
The only possible suggestions are, in this order: try another graphic card driver, then another graphic card, then reinstall your Windows
I'm sure you had these ideas already.
