Problem with ratings
I have just over 30 seasons with my fictional league. The problem I'm having is pitcher ratings for newly generated pitchers are always 65-75 for both overall and potential. The batter range from 20-30 in overall but the potential for them are fine. All the modifiers are set at 1.000. It doesn't matter if I generate them manually or the game does it before the drafts. Something is screwy.

I'm in the middle of running my 2nd 100 year test sim trying to figure this out myself. I have them set at 1.0 as well and it's just not churning out near the number of quality pitchers it needs to be. But if you up it it starts to churn out TO MANY quality MR's. I'm about 30 years into my 2nd test sim and again my AL ERA is hovering in the low 5's each season and my NL ERA is JUST under 5.

I'm having just the opposite. It generates about 99% pitchers in the green. 62-74 numbers for both ovr and pot ratings. Its at the point now that every pitching staff including minors have ratings in the green.

OK Heres an update, it seems noting I do with the ratings changes the overall/potential rating. I take a 80/80 player and turn the pitch rating to all 1's, the movement and control to 1 and the rating changed to 64/64. The only way it went lower was to move the velocity down. Any help would be appreciated and is very needed.

I can't help beyond saying that you might want to put this in tech support forum instead.
Perhaps they'll ask you to upload your league save file to investigate. |

I suggest you just ignore the overall ratings, they are based on much more than ratings unless you changed it. Stats, comparrison to the rest of the league, etc.
The star rating system is not perfect, but if a player or two is extremely good, he swings the curve and makes everyone else at his position look worse. But there are 8 positions in the field which allow more hitters to be 5 stars, compared to the pitchers which have 3 positions. |

Yeah, please post this in tech support and FTP your *.dat league files, or email them to markus@ootpdevelopments.com, I'll have a look at them to figure out what is going on.
