Multiple 20+ game hitting streaks for the same player in 1 season

I'm currently in 1903 in my historical solo league. Earlier this season, Emmett Heidrick of St. Louis posted a 35-game hitting streak. 4 days ago, Heidrick just had another, 26-game, streak snapped. Now the problem is that the previous second-highest streak this season in the NL belongs to Cincinnati CF Harry Bay at 18 games. Heidrick's second streak doesn't show up among the leaders for hitting streaks. Is this supposed to happen or is this a bug in how hitting streaks are recorded?
