This Game has to many Crashes and Errors

No way to fix them.
Reinstalling the Game would just make them pop back up.
The Game should reconize that World.Dat file from like Negro League was made from this years version and it should load or the League that came with the Latest Patch should save all the way if you have simed some and not give that error.

I hate to tell you this but most crashes, etc are caused by the systems they are attempting to use. I have had no crashes at all on either my older laptop or on this one. Sometimes something running in the background causes the conflicts or whatever. The fact is that if only some people are getting crashes and most aren't it is pretty obvious it isn't the game itself but the game combined with something going on with your computer.

In a perfect world you should never have real time virus protection running at the same time you play a game.

Most people never shut it off and it never causes issues.

To answer your question though, yes your anti-virus could be causing crashes.

FWIW, I've played with 9 and 10 for the past couple of years and I've never had a crash, never lost a league, nothing. I must say that when I first started reading the boards, I was worried by all the chatter about crashes and such, but it hasn't cropped up in my play. Good job, OOTP.

In a perfect world there'd be no viruses.

Yeah, to be fair to OOTP I think what happens is you get a few users that do get crashes and come here to vent. I don't blame them, I'd be upset too if OOTP wouldn't run on my system.

Some will take the help that is offered here and get up and running. Some will have a system that it just isn't going to work on for whatever reason and move on. Some will spam the board every chance they get with "the game is terrible, my rig runs BRAND-X software without issue and it's much more complex that OOTP. It must be bad design by Markus and he just doesn't care".

In the end the vast majority play without issue and have no reason to report that fact here.

That's possible. I always have my virus protection running when I play. I've experienced only one crash so far.

I'm not sure why anyone in this age of DSL and 'always connected' would ever turn off their virus protection--unless they unplug their DSL. Game developers should keep this in mind when they program their games.

I agree i play with real time protection on and have had only one or 2 crashes since 10 came out. Wouldn't stay hooked online without it...crashes happen every so often to everyone but OOTP 10 this year has to be the best release yet for not crashing. We had dat.file crashes last year that has been rectified...

In the preseason of my second year and deleted all but the main League and replaced with my Drafted by Teams Template and went to exit the Game and got the Microsoft Run Time Error at at 10 percent saving at Players and it should save all the way because I'm not using the League that came with the latest Patch that's cause that Error to show up.

I have played OOTP 9 and 10 and have probably hundreds of hours now under the old belt and never had a single crash.

Crashes are likely becuase of these outside factors already noted in thread.

Anti virus programs running at sametime are common cluster****er to many many games.

But probably not for this one. I have Norton running in the background at all times, and I have never had a problem with OOTP, or with 99% of my other programs for that matter. There's probably some other factor interfering.

I'm pretty sure the game will work better if you move it from the C: drive to Orlando,Kansas City,P.rico!
