Windows Shut Down OOTP 10
Thanks to Dan Theman for saving me a lot of reconstruction time. I was in my second season, 2010, of OOTP 10 and noticed that Tony Pena was on two rosters. I was unable to remove him from one of those rosters and decided to "retire" him. Unfortunately, retiring one Tony Pena retired both of them. Too much or too little of a good thing, I suppose. Once retired, I tried to bring him back, unretiring a retired player. He returned, to both rosters. So I retired him again. He thus became a retired retired player who doesn't appear among the ranks of retired players, although he can be found in the transactions logs. Next, my game "crashed". In reading through various possible solutions in this Forum and thinking this is a lot of work, I discovered Dan's commentary about how "XP-based programs dealt with external resources in a somewhat different way than some Vista programs". He recommended starting a new league to see if the game would work. It does. My OS is Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1. I am back in 2009, with many roster moves to make. I'm not sure Tony Pena blew my save, but I wouldn't be surprised.
