Manager & Bench Coach provide wacky pitching staff
Anyone else find this?
After importing a game from ver 9 , and using ver 10.2.16 both my manger and bench coach when asked to set my pitching staff change things to include only one listed Starting Pitcher, & one closer, and two middle relief pitchers in my 4 man rotation. My two Aces were relegated to mop up roles. Any ideas? Batting and depth charts seem reasonable. |

I have no experience with doing an import like that, but that's almost certainly the source of the problem. I'd guess that your pitchers didn't get translated correctly into the new pitching model. You could make yourself commissioner and look at each of your pitchers in the Editor, and see what you see. If the import isn't working, you might see if you can get specific help on how to do it so that the pitchers come across correctly. Or maybe someone more knowledgeable about that will see this thread. Good luck!

Well even with OOTPX leagues, the AI does some crazy stuff if you leave it to your manager/bench coach, or worst case, let the AI auto-fix your entire organization. It will move your pitchers all around and not into the roles they are meant for or should be in.
As the OP said, this isn't a problem with batters as far as I know - I don't have any issue with hitting the "ask manager/bench coach for depth charts +lineups" because they generally do a good job. But I set ALL of my pitching staffs on all levels. |
