cannot install patch 10.4.29
anyone have any suggestions on my problem?
1. running windows xp. never had a problem with downloading patches. 2. i download (run) the new patch, windows version 3. when it finishes downloading i select run and it loads the bar fully and goes to where you leave default selected or change the directory. 4. thats were i have a problem. i cannot select the install button. i see it but it is grayed out. even if i change directories i get the same thing. 5. i have tried multiple downloads and have tried from the mirror site. 6. pop up blocker is off even though i dont think it matters. any help? thanks.

Someone with more knowledge of the inner workings of OOTP will probably respond to this. The only other thing I can think of is it's not detecting that OOTPX is currently installed. Maybe you have an older version of it and missed a patch? Don't know if that would cause this problem or not.
And speaking of windows versions, if either of you are running Vista, try running the patch as administrator. That seems to be the universal answer to all Vista problems.

I believe it is waiting for you to select the OOTP10 directory. I did not install in the default and I didn't get the install button to "light up" until I selected the OOTP10 directory. Do not stop selecting when you see the OOTP10 folder, you have to click on the OOTP10 folder so that it can access teh OOTP10.exe file. After that it was just a matter of seconds before it was finished.

i finally got the patch to install. i had to uninstall OOTP10 completely. Reinstall and then download the patch. not sure why, maybe a file was inadvertently deleted or something, but whatever, its working now.

If you paid for the game you shouldnt have to pay again. i just used the serial number they sent me and installed it on the same computer. i would email tech support if you need assistance.

You won't have to pay again. To be safe, you should unlicense the game and then relicense after you reinstall. There is an option in the Start Menu to unlicense. Make sure you still have your Order ID (or write it down before you unlicense).
