Spring Training 40 Man Roster Exposed to Waivers at Season Start

I thought this problem was solved, but it just happened again. (Ver 10.4.29)

At the start of Spring Training ALL 40 players from my 40 Man Roster were moved over to the Active Roster to participate in training. (This time done automatically by the game.) At the end of Spring training I have to cut the roster to 25 players.

The problem is I have 10 players who I now need to
expose to waivers before being assigned to my AAA team.
Surely this can’t be correct.
How can it be corrected?

Yeah, my stockpile is getting big.
Bad part is that I just traded for some of these players.

Is this a practice (no option years + assigned minors from spring training = waivers) in MLB too?

Yes, but the true interpretation in MLB is no option years + 40-man roster + playing in the minors = waivers. To play games in the minor leagues at the start of the season, they would have to clear irrevocable waivers first. Really, spring training has nothing to do with it. But the OOTP implementation is to transfer everyone on the 40-man roster to the active roster in the spring to force the players to clear waivers that fit that formula. IRL, you can't just leave players on the 40-man roster in the minor leagues forever (as was the practice in previous OOTP incarnations).
