waaaaaay too many injuries
Is there anyway to turn down the injuries? I don't think i've made it through a single season with losing a big time star to injuries, most of them lengthly, plus many many injuries to lesser players.

go to the game dropdown menu, and select 'game setup.' there should be a setting for injury frequency. I recommend setting it to low, but the injuries could be because your players' injury frequencies are high

My '69 Expos team is getting slaughtered. I have injuries set to Very Low. I have all the patches installed. Two SPs, one key MR, and my RF (Staub) all crocked for 4-7 months, variously.
This wouldn't even be realistic for an NFL sim, let alone baseball. Is there a way to manually fix this? |

Injuries have researched thoroughly on this site by various members. The bottom line is that the injury model is dead on accurate.New members are invariably taken aback by the number of injuries when they first start playing the game, until of course they do the research themselves and find that yes there are that many injuries in baseball.

Yeah. Sucks when it happens to you, but it's not at all out of line. Think of the Mets this year: Beltran, Reyes, Delgado, Santana, Nieve, Neise, Martinez, and on and on. Check the real life mid-year injury reports. At least a third of the teams have injury situations comparable to those cited above.

Yeah, pitcher injury frequencies are way way off. The main frustration I have is the effect that has on pitcher career stats.

I am inclined to agree with this...to a point.
My issue is that the difference between all of the injury levels is slight, meaning between low and normal in unnoticeable but the difference between low and very low in huge so that you only really have two settings here...very low which is way to low and low and above which I think tends to be too high - a average week long sim will produce 3-4 6+ month injuries...as a disclaimer here I have never experimented with anything beyond normal... |

Those of you complaining about injuries in this thread, are you sure you're not just still going off your impressions or tests of OOTP9? I know I sometimes do that with different aspects of the game, thinking that something is still like it was in a previous version.
Not that I believe everything I read either, but some points to consider:
Now I haven't done or read any of these in-depth studies that others have and just from my online league I suspect that things could maybe still be improved, but if those who have read these studies are confident in the results then I tell myself I should be too, barring any new information. Quote:
If you're not happy with Kuiper leading the league in HRs then I'm sure there's some historical setting you should set differently. I'm not an expert on that stuff, but I imagine that if you start a thread on the topic then someone who is will reply to it.
