SLOW game OOTPX with latest patch - HELP
I downloaded and installed the patch, not the full game, just the patch and started to run my ficitional league. My league has MLB photos only, no saved boxscores, and auto-save once a year. It's got 32 teams and 3 levels of minors.
Anyway, once I set up all the logos and the other details I tried to sim a season to see what the numbers were going to look like. I hit 'Auto-Play until X date (11/1)," and left, I came back 2 1/2 hours later and it had only simmed 1 week and was running EXTREMELY slow, I had to stop auto-play and then tried to Quick-Play 1 game and it took 10 minutes to Quick Play 1 game. Any thoughts?!?

First thing I would try is to uninstall/install the full (new) version.
(paying attention to the licence issue if you have a MAC). I would always back-up my league data each time I update as well. (although uninstall/install will not delete these...it's better to be safe.....) Patches are OK if they work. But I have more faith in the full files if something is going screwy. Try this and let us know.

Ok, I uninstalled the game and reinstalled the FULL game with the latest patch and I installed it at 12:31PM and hit Start OOTPX at 12:37PM and it is now 2:07PM and it's still opening. That is not right. Do I need to COMPLETELY uninstall it? What I mean is that when I went back in to paste my saved games file all my old data was still there. But after it was uninstalled I checked My Documents and OOTPX was gone, what should I do?

We're going to have to get a bit deeper...
Is it a PC or MAC? If a PC, what OS? Are you installing to the default location? If Vista, do you right click to start "run as administrator"? |
